For some weird reason, I want this thing. I just want to wallow in the pillowy, ass massaging, couch like seats as I hope that there aren’t any corners nearby.

The best thing about driving it is that you don’t have to look at it.

Fair price. Maybe even a little low, sometimes the minty ones go 3k or over.

Very much a NP. I love that color too.

IMHO, it’s ugly in a way that somehow looks good.

I thought the price seemed pretty good, but alas, I don’t have the money. I’d probably buy it if I did.

The color combo is fantastic! You see more of these in black or blue, but this looks way better.

My dad had one of these when I was growing up. I can confirm that they DO NOT like to corner.

I can also confirm that on a straight road, you will lose all sense of what a proper speed is, as the car isolates you from everything and throws off your sense of speed with its weight/size. I thought I was doing ~50 and looked down at the speedo and was doing 90.

It was super cool though to show up in it for the prom.

I vote that as a Nice Price... especially if you value your cars by the square foot/dollar or by pounds of steel/dollar.

I was thinking more along the lines of dollar per acre . . .

Also, it’s about 40 cubic feet per dollar.

I think it’s rolling art. Sadly it’s not a car.

Wayne Newton had the one I’d buy, a Station Wagon modification which I’d call a Lincoln Shooting Brake. More info on it here.

Also, I was curious as wether there was any technical justification for that prodigious front overhang, but it is all design really, as the engine sits between and behind the front wheels. One could also argue it was a great crumple zone, except the heavy steel used in the frame and body did not crumple very well. Apparently it was a design feature started with the Mark III that Lincoln-Mercury engineer Burt Andren tried to change by reducing the overhang by 4 inches to improve weight distribution. But the Mark III’s designer David Ash refused and the huge overhang continued until the ill-fated Mark VI.

I guess the overhang was more of a styling thing; the designer(s) thought it looked cool.

I’ll take 1 for you when I get home. I’m not taking the cover all the way off tho. It’s to damn cold for all that.
